Strawberry Mint Julep
Who said Mint Juleps are only for the derby?
INGREDIENTS
1/2 c. water 1/2 c. granulated sugar 2 jalapeños, halved 1/4 c. chopped strawberries 8 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish 2 oz. bourbon Ice 1 (12-oz.) can seltzer Strawberry, for garnish Red jalapeño, sliced, for garnish
Make your simple syrup using water, sugar and jalepenos. Once that is prepared and cooled, muddle the strawberries and mint. Pour your favorite bourbon, add 1 tablespoon of your simple syrup, and top of with seltzer and you are sure to enjoy this cool refreshing Julep.
Rum Runner
Did you know that the term "rum-running" came during the prohibition era when bootleggers would smuggle cases of alcohol across state lines?
INGREDIENTS
1 oz. dark rum
1 oz. light rum
1 oz. banana liqueur 1 oz. blackberry liqueur 1 1/2 oz. pineapple juice 1/2 oz. lime juice Splash of grenadine Pineapple wedge, for garnish
Blackberries, for garnish
This simple cocktail just needs shaken, poured over crushed ice and garnished with fresh fruit!
Strawberry Basil Moscow Mule
The traditional Moscow Mule’s name itself is said to be a play on vodka's origin—Moscow—and ginger beer's kick (like a mule some say). We typically use Goslings Ginger Beer to give ours a nice refreshing taste.
INGREDIENTS
2 ounces vodka
4 or 5 strawberries
5 basil leaves
3/4 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
Crushed ice
2 to 3 ounces ginger beer
In your shaker, muddle your strawberries and basil. Add your vodka and ice and shake, shake, shake. Strain into your copper mug over ice & top with ginger beer! ENJOY
